Can't see jpeg image on print-out.

Can't see jpeg image on print-out.

Can't see jpeg image on print-out.

(OP)
I've got a scanned mounting instruction on a drawing sheet and it does not show when I print out the drawing.

Solution anyone ?

Thanks.

RE: Can't see jpeg image on print-out.

How are you printing?

When we put pictures in drawings, we need to use the MS Print Manager.

RE: Can't see jpeg image on print-out.

Sometimes the following may work
a) creating a PDF of the drawing and then printing the drawing

b) converting the image from JPEG to something else (gif, bmp, etc.) and then importing that to Pro/ENGINEER.  Experiment with different file types; I do not know what will work in your case.

Check thread554-94416 then try what Mark suggests which is the last reply.

RE: Can't see jpeg image on print-out.

The only way we can print a picture imported into a drawing is by printing with MS Print Manager (as mentioned above by arlen).

RE: Can't see jpeg image on print-out.

Also, take a look at a program called TraceArt. It can convert from raster files (BMP, JPG, etc) to vector based files (like a DXF).

There is a free shareware download at http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Multimedia_and_Graphics/Graphics_Editors/TraceArt.html . As great as that is, I think the best part of the page is the fact that they use the word "intuitionisticly"... I love that word!

Another solution (hey, you never know) is to use MATLAB. There are a few freely available edge finding algorithms available on the web. A former colleague of mine who is now working on his masters thesis is working with MATLAB scripts that do this. He had actually used this to scan in a series of MRI images of a human brain and generate a 3D model of it. Each "slice" was actually a unique DXF file.

RE: Can't see jpeg image on print-out.

Sorry. I forgot that the shareware version of that program overlays their logo on the exported vector file. So it really isnt a "free" download, but at $80 it's still less expensive than Streamline or Illustrator.

Adobe has a "free" download of Streamline as well, but you can't save with it.

Good luck
Mark
