Thermally Coated Aluminium

Thermally Coated Aluminium

Thermally Coated Aluminium

(OP)
I work for a pump manufacturer and we have a contract where the client is requesting that the duplex stainless steel pump is coated externally with thermally coated aluminium. I understand the reasons for this as the pump is offshore, pumped fluid is over 70 degC and it is intended to prevent crevice corrosion of duplex in salt laden atmosphere.

Apart from how far we go in applying this (duplex fasteners?) I have a particular concern over the pump flanges which will be attached to pipework with DESTEC manufacture split clamps. If we coat the flange under the clamp will the aluminium coating become easily damaged? If we stop coating short of the clamp will the coating boundary area see any particular problems?

Does anyone have any experience of this application?
