Bowling Alley Pinsetter Demand Factor

Bowling Alley Pinsetter Demand Factor

Bowling Alley Pinsetter Demand Factor

(OP)
Anyone have a good data set on bowling alley pinsetter electrical load.  I am trying to determine an appropriate non-coincident usage demand factor.  Word of mouth is that it is a considerably low DF.  But the only reliable data I have found was a military guide recommending 70-75 for the entire bowling alley.  There will be some constant demand on the pinsetter, but I am not convinced that the motor drawdown is such that I can use any demand factor for this piece of equipment.

Thanks

RE: Bowling Alley Pinsetter Demand Factor

Ask the manufacturer what demand factor he recommends. You could also use a strip chart recorder on an actual bowling alley machine to measure the operating time of the pinsetting motor. Then, allow a bit of safety factor in case you get some no nonsense bowlers that push the machine as fast as it can go.

RE: Bowling Alley Pinsetter Demand Factor

Well, it's been my experience that it typically takes 8 league bowlers about 2.5 hrs to bowl 80 frames on two lanes.  That works out to a maximum of about normal pin sets.

Most places I've been to, there's usually a few glitched pin sets per game.
