Turn Ansys Nonlinear Off

Turn Ansys Nonlinear Off

I was running an Ansys model with nonlinear "features" using the nonlinear solution.  I have carved out a portion of the model and removed all nonlinear "features" but when I solve it still runs in nonlinear mode. How do I turn nonlinear off such that I just run linear?

RE: Turn Ansys Nonlinear Off

What version of ANSYS are you running?  Are you runnign ANSYS Classic or ANSYS Workbench?

RE: Turn Ansys Nonlinear Off

Just to add to TGS4 set of questions:

What exactly have you got in your model?
What exactly have you done to your model?
Which "features" have you "removed from your model"?
Etc..

Ansys 6.1

Only Solid95 and Solid92 elements with linear material properties.  I previously had a much larger model with contact and nonlinear material properties.  I've removed all of that and now the model should be running in linear mode but it continues to go into nonlinear solution mode.  How to I switch it back to linear?

RE: Turn Ansys Nonlinear Off

There's no such thing as "linear" or "non-linear mode" only linear and non-linear solutions. Check for deltim and nsubst commands hanging around as well as spring, link, combin or spurious contact elements. Note: we don't ask for much gratitude here, except for simple manners/politeness (please and thank you being the basic ones).

Cheers,
