(OP)
we've got some materials mixed with each other such as A182-f91, A387-22, inconel 800HT, A387-91 , A105 , A36.(without any marking)
Iwoud like to know what is the best and cheapest way to distinguish them.

RE: material distinguish

The answer to your question depends on what you intend to do with these materials. If they require ASTM certification for use, you will need to have a piece from each sent out to a metallurgical lab to have them re-certified for use.

RE: material distinguish

Or you could find a local lab service with a portable XRF analyser, if you just need to do a material sort.

RE: material distinguish

A portable optical emission spectrometer can be very useful. You could hire the services of testing lab for this.

RE: material distinguish

Based on the posts above, you will be able to sort between carbon steel, Ni-base or Cr-Mo alloy steel. You will not be able to distinguish between ASTM A-105 or A-36 carbon steel and A-387 Grade 91 or A-182 F91 alloy steel.

RE: material distinguish

Portable OE will let you measure carbon levels as well as general chemistry.  If you have Certs you probably could match them to the mateirals.
But as Metengr said, since the chemistry ranges of a number of your carbon steel grades overlap there is no way to sort them based on chemistry.  You will need mechanical properties and microstructure examination to sort out how they were manufactured and what the properties are.

Corrosion never sleeps, but it can be managed.
