Patterened Items in My Feature Tree
Patterened Items in My Feature Tree
(OP)
Is there a SYSTEM PROPERTY that controls whether or not patterened items show up in my feature tree. I like them at the bottom - within the pattern feature - but they're also showing up in the "body" of my tree & really cluttering up the joint. Even if I place them in a folder - there's still a butt-load of them & I see no reason to have them show-up twice.
Thanks...
Thanks...

RE: Patterened Items in My Feature Tree
Similarly, if you have created a component pattern within a sub-assy, then that pattern will show up at the bottom of that sub-assys tree, not Aat the bottom of the Top Level assy.

RE: Patterened Items in My Feature Tree
I have some parts & hardware in my assembly & I place the hardware with feature driven patterns where possible. I want to see only the original nuts & bolts in the feature tree - not the patterened ones.
RE: Patterened Items in My Feature Tree
When you say "patterened items", do you mean the Component Pattern Feature or the actual components that were created by the pattern? If you've got the components showing up in the middle of the Feature Tree, and the Component Pattern Feature is *not* there, then that means at some point someone RMB the Component Pattern Feature and selected "Dissolve Pattern". If that's the case then to fix it you'l have to delete all the additional components that showed up after the dissovle, and redo the Component Pattern Feature(s).

Are you sure they are the same parts. If you delete the ones in the tree (not the original seeds), do the ones in the Pattern Feature (at the bottom) also get deleted?
Can you show a screen shot of your expanded tree?

Now I'm gonna CNTL-right-click & hide components.

Notice now - that most of my hardware - in the feature tree - is hidden. If I expand the pattern features - I'll see the same hardware parts - hidden.

I don't need to see the same parts in more than one place in my feature tree. How's that for clarification?
RE: Patterened Items in My Feature Tree
Do you have a similar assembly where a folder has never been used? Does it have the same problem?

RE: Patterened Items in My Feature Tree
It never occurred to me to try that.
Just another endearing SolidWorks quirk I guess.
