If you use a home computer to remotely control your work PC, and need to start Matlab, you'll find a very annoying message that tells you your license won't let you do that.

To work around, simply copy the matlab icon into your startup folder, then use Powertoys to autologon to windows.  Restart the computer (run the taskmanager (tskmgr) from the start menu- then click shutdown, restart).

Wait a few minutes, then logon to your computer again. You should find Matlab is up and running waiting for your commands.

I don't know why Mathworks decided to put this annoying little quirk into their license plan- but it took about 30 seconds to bypass it. Good luck!
