Using Equations in Forming Tools

Using Equations in Forming Tools

(OP)
Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if any of you experienced veterans of Solidworks have ever tried using an equation to drive a forming tool.

I'm thinking it should be possible to create a base part as a sheetmetal feature when creating the forming tool. Then link a radius to half the thickness of the sheetmetal. That way the forming tool works for all sheetmetal thicknesses. Is this possible or not? If not? Why? Forming tools can only be used on sheetmetal parts therefore you should be able to link to the thickness.

I am going to continue to try some more tests to prove this out. In the meantime I welcome anyone's suggestions/experiences with this problem.

Best Regards,
Jon
