Ansys Picker Dialog...not showing up

Ansys Picker Dialog...not showing up

Ansys Picker Dialog...not showing up

(OP)
I don't know if it is just me, but I seem to have a lot of problems with the Picker Dialog not showing up after using Ansys for a short period of time.  For example, I was trying a simple model last night and after solving I went back to apply another load.  After I picked "load on area", etc, the picker dialog would not show up.  Someone (drej) previously suggested using the "bring to front" button but that does not work either.  It is not just the load command.  At this point other commands that require the picker dialog also show the same problem.

Any ideas?

Thank You

RE: Ansys Picker Dialog...not showing up

What version (including patch number, if applicable) are you running?  On what OS?

RE: Ansys Picker Dialog...not showing up

This behaviour was meant to have been fixed in version 8.1, but wasn't. The workaround is to do the following:

- Zoom out of your model (fit to screen)
- Box zoom into a portion of the model
- Zoom back out again

Hey presto, the picker box will return. Not sure if this has been fixed in v9.0 as I am still using good ol' v8.1 - hope so.

RE: Ansys Picker Dialog...not showing up

By the way, you mention that I suggested using the raise/hidden button - well this is an entirely different problem, this is a bug, the other is not.

Cheers,

I believe that CTRL-SHIFT-DELETE also works.  You'll even get a little "Sorry" message in your output window.
