Hi,
I am looking for some recommendations and/or a piping standard for anhydrous hydrochloric acid?  Typical concentrations are 32%w/w and dilute at 3 to 5%w/w.  One piece of information recommends glass lined or rubber lined steel pipe. I am also interested in whether anyone has experience with PTFE lined pipe for HCL acid lines.

I have used PTFE for HCL uses without any problems.  Our stuff is usually relatively small-scale, so cost may become an issue if you're talking about building an entire plant.  PVC is rated as an "A" to 40% to 140°F.  Polypropylene gets an "A" to 100% to 70°F.  HDPE gets an "A" to 100% to 140°F, but PTFE is good to higher temps than all of those.

HCl is one of the most common applications for PTFE lined pipe.  PVDF or even PP lined may be more economical, but use depends upon max temperature.
