External storage disk problem

External storage disk problem

External storage disk problem

(OP)
I have a Mobile disk storage device. The problem I have
is when I connect it to my computer via the USB port,
it connects and then immediatly tells me it has been disconnected and that you should follow the correct disconnection procedure etc. It works fine on my laptop which runs on XP. My home comp runs on 2000. I would appreciate any input.

RE: External storage disk problem

Have you checked out your usb port in the device manager?
Maybe its conflicting, or driver is bad.

RE: External storage disk problem

(OP)
Yes. My USB is o.k as it works with my memory stick, digital
camera etc. The only real differences I can determin from my laptop comp and home comp is that my file system on laptop is NTFS while I use FAT32 on home comp. 2000 should
be able to read NTFS. External drive is also NTFS.
