MSP to Primavera

(OP)
Hello everybody!
Our company has developed spreadsheet solution for pricing projects including calculation of required resources. We used MS excel. Also we developed a macro that enables us to transfer activities, resources and resource assignment to MS Project. This gives us save in time and cost in entering the activities into MSP. On the other hand there are many advices to turn to Primavera and the only thing makes us reluctant for doing so is the fact that we would have to enter those huge data manually. Does anybody have any idea on how to convert MSP file into P3 file? Thank you in advance

RE: MSP to Primavera

Primevera has a scheduling program Suretrak that is supposed to import MSP files, but I never had a lot of luck with it. However, they have out a new product, "Contractor", that is supposed to move easily between MSP and P3. Have not tried it yet, but you may want to contact Primevera for more information.

RE: MSP to Primavera

Primavera has a MPX transfer which will allow you to send your MSP project information into P3.  However MSP 2000 is difficult to work.  MSP 98 works fine.

There are other ways to transfer your Excel spreadsheets directly into P3 but remember they have to be saved as .mdb files first.  This is a lot easier than loading via MSP
