Variable speed screw compressor

Variable speed screw compressor

(OP)
Hi,
I'm actually looking at two models of variable speed drive screw air compressor:
1- Ingersoll-Rand Nirvana 200Hp double stage
2- CompAir L120SR 175Hp single stage

Specially the I-R Nirvana seems to be so eocnomic in regard to energy consomption.(16 kw/ 100 cfm)

Any other compressor manufacturer who are desgning true variable speed drive screw compressors? (not talking about an AC drive) Here I'm refering to their new DC brushless motor (permanent magnet or switched reluctance drive systems)

Thnaks

RE: Variable speed screw compressor

Seems like your question is more around packaging than compressor-ends themselves.  There are a dozen manufacturers of dry screws for air service.  There are hundreds of competent fab shops that could put a DC Brushless motor driving any of the screws.

At around 20 hp you're application is big enough to be looking at fab shops instead of just the smart manufacturer's packages.
