1747-PIC config. problem

1747-PIC config. problem

(OP)
Hello all, and thanks in advance.

I have a PIC-driver for an SLC5/03. I am trying to install the driver in RS-Linx, and I always end up with a problem. For one the PLC can not download or read the communications.

When I go and open RS Linx I get a Win32 error of (378096899).

My COM ports are configured correctly. Any advice? Oh by the way Im running on a windows XP pc. Any conflict with pic and xp?

RE: 1747-PIC config. problem

Yeah, there is problem w/ XP.  I don't know if there is a fix for it.  Try looking it up at http://software.rockwell.com
Let me know if you need any more help.

Thanks marshg,

I actually found the solution (someone else knew) to the problem. I had a USB to serial adapter to pic. Does not work. On his computer with XP and a USB pic box it worked okay, and I gave it a try.I ordered a new pic. I'll give a heads up if I find a more detailed solution with an explaination from Rockwell.

Thanks

marshg;

I got a new usb pic or UIC. I had some trouble installing though. It would get rid of my USB driver once it installed. After that I reinstalled my driver, all went smoothly.

thanks
jt
