Solidworks view screen problem

Solidworks view screen problem

Solidworks view screen problem

(OP)
I just started using SolidWorks at work.  I have CATIA V5 on my computer along with SolidWorks 2005.  All lettering on the view screen for Parts, Assemblies, and Drawings is not readable.  I can double click on all values to popup a diaglog box that shows the value.  I cannot read any dimensions, notes, or drawing title block.  Is there a setting that I can adjust to fix this?  I have had this problem for all files.  I have sent the files to my coworkers and they have not found the problem.  Has anyone else experienced this problem?  How can I fix it?

What Graphics Card & Driver are you using?

RE: Solidworks view screen problem

Hi,

I assume that if you can double click and they pop in the dialogue box they are there and annotations are toggled to be shown.

For drawings, layers turned on?

Otherwise sounds like it could be a graphics card issue - what are your specs?

did the trick.  I had Use Software OpenGL turned off.  Thanks.

RE: Solidworks view screen problem

If having Software OpenGL turned ON has helped, that means the Graphics card you have is NOT suitable for running SolidWorks.

How do I check to see what type of graphics card I am using?  How can I find the SW requirements?

I checked the link and my video card should work.  I have ATI Fire GL 8800 128 MB Video.  I have version 5.12.2195.3014 and the version listed is 5.12.2195.3056.  It looks like it is a driver problem.

RE: Solidworks view screen problem

Jet, is the text just really small?  or is it distorted?  If the text is small in the models, try checking your annotation\details, then display text at same size.  As for the drawings, good guess if not display problem then check all your drawing templates settings.  Tools options, document properties....if the display is just distorted....nevermind.
