Missing Dimension Handle Points
Missing Dimension Handle Points
(OP)
A coworker of mine keeps losing the dimension handle points that allow you to change the direction of the extension lines in all his drawings.
Each time, to fix it, we have been modifiying the registry, and they come back for a few days.
We are all running SP1.1. Has anyone else experienced this problem? He is the only one that it keeps happening to. I would like to find a solution to this problem short of installing the new service pack (we have to wait for the IS manager to come around and upgrade everyone, we have individual license, but not administrative rights to our computers) this coworker has a strong background in Pro-E, and is making it difficult to get a successful rollout with the others to accept Solidworks instead of AutoCAD because he continues to say how inadequate SW is compared to Pro-E.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

RE: Missing Dimension Handle Points
2) If possible, have your co-worker use another computer for a few days to see if the problem is the computer/software combination ... or him.
3) When your IS manager gets back, try a repair.

RE: Missing Dimension Handle Points
we were kind of thinking about either a repair or a clean reinstall.
when the IS dept sets up the new computers, they just create an image off of one and apply them to the others. not sure if this is causing some of our problems or not. other companies I have worked for have installed SW individually on each computer.

RE: Missing Dimension Handle Points
We had the same problem and had to revert back to an old Registration file. This did fix it. Our VAR told us it was a corrupt registration file. Since being on SP 3.0 we do not have this problem.
As a side issue, see if you can logon to your computer as user name is administrator using a blank password and Log on to: (this computer).

Is your coworker using the same system/video card as you?

RE: Missing Dimension Handle Points
yes, we have the identical computers/graphics cards. The only differences are monitors, keyboards, and mice.
Bradley:
the IS dept has all the computers set up so we can't even log into "this computer". It's the network, or nothing
