(OP)
This problem just started today, when i start Acad 14, and i want to open a project, i can't go to th eopen icon or the drop down menu to open a file.  it prompts me down at the command line to enter the name of the project.  How can i get the dialog box back up. so i can browse for a certain project.

Thanks for any suggestions, it will be much appreciated.

RE: This problem just started today, wh

Do this:

Command: setvar
Variable name or ? <FILEDIA>: filedia

New value for FILEDIA <0>: 1

Your filedia must have got set to 0 for you to lose your dialogue box, this will restore it.

Ah, it happened to you too.  We can't figure out why this sometimes happens, but it does.  Write these two variables down somewhere where you won't forget them.

FILEDIA
CMDDIA

maybe write it on the frame of your monitor :)  I always forget them.
