Hydraulic cylinder - Mechanism problem

Hydraulic cylinder - Mechanism problem

Mechanism gurus

I have a problem trying to define a hydraulic cylinder.

I have modelled separate skeleton of the fixed and moving cylinders, and placed them into a sub-assembly.  Also within the sub-assembly is a datum curve, driven by a parameter from a layout.

The moving part has cylinder and planar constraints, and if course the moving part drags okay.

My problem is that I want to be able to come out of mechanism environment into standard Pro/E modelling environment, and regenerate the assembly and see the hydraulic cylinder in a controlled position – the position defined by the layout.

Is there a method to get the cylinder constraint to regenerate into a controlled position?

Many thanks

Dave

RE: Hydraulic cylinder - Mechanism problem

Dave,

Use the regeneration value in the joint settings. Unfortunately this is not yet a parametric value that can be tied to a parameter.

i have seen and used such a possibilty in 2001, but only for pin joints being driven by servo-motors

is there really such a possibility for cylinder servo-motors?

RE: Hydraulic cylinder - Mechanism problem

The slider joint is a configurable joint that will accept a regeneration value. The units will be linear ones (mm, inch, etc.). I do this all the time with sliding joints.
