What is the difference between incoloy 800H and 800 AT ?
What are the areas of appication ?
What are the merits of 800 H over 800 AT ?

RE: INCOLY 800 H & 800 AT

My suggestion is to visit the comprehensive web site below by Special Metals for excellent technical background on Incoloy materials. They can answer all of your questions.

RE: INCOLY 800 H & 800 AT

Try the web site below - and AT is annealed treatment not tempered (typo). You can find the Incoloy 800/800 HT link to technical data ;

RE: INCOLY 800 H & 800 AT

I have one reference that refers to AMS 5871 which is the same for Incoloy 800.

RE: INCOLY 800 H & 800 AT

Chemically they are the same. the difference is in the heat treating. H or HT is heat treated for higher strength, AT is annealed.

RE: INCOLY 800 H & 800 AT

Be aware that if you use Inc.800 types and the sum of Ti+Al is more than 0,7%, PWHT is nescessary when the operation temperature is between 500 - 750 C.
Reason : prevention stress induced cracking during operation. A crack type that occurs within 2 years of operation. Recommended : PWHT 3 hours 875 C
