simulation - linear motor/limit mate

simulation - linear motor/limit mate

simulation - linear motor/limit mate

(OP)
I've created a simple assy. I've given it a basic limit mate, and I'm trying to drive one of the parts with a linear motor. I calculate the sim and it gives me this message:

Quote:

This assembly contains limit mates.  These mates will be held in their current positions during Physical Simulation.

Then I run the sim and obviously nothing happens.

Do simulations not like limit mates?

RE: simulation - linear motor/limit mate

You can't have a mate that controls it and then try to simulate it. The part must be able to move freely or the simulation will not work.
