I have created a assembly of multiple plates in solidworks 2004 which are joined together by multiple screws/guide pins/dowel pins.  Now I am making a drawing of this assembly and would like for the feature name's to label the various holes in the drawing view's.  How do I do this?

I have named each of the features (i.e. CUT's and fasteners) corresponding to thier uses, so fore example a series of 22 screwholes cut in one plate are named s-1 and 10 screw holes in anothe plate are named s-2.  Likewise dowel pins in one plate are d-1 and guide pins are gp-1.  It is a really simple naming scheme which would make the 2-D views of the drawing alot clearer, but how do I make my naming scheme associative to the drawing views.

Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

RE: feature names

Have you tried using the Custom properties in each part to Specify the description or another proerty that will be listed in yoru BOM? That will show up in the BOM like your wanting aslong as you have column setup for the Property. See Help for details.

Custom properties are located under File/Properties

I have the features named and tried to insert a NOTE attached to the feature and perform a property link to the feature name to show up in the note dialog box.  However I can't find a property link to the feature name and don't know it this meathod (if possible) would retain associativity.

RE: feature names

Have you tried the Hole Table? It will not notate the holes exactly as you want, but will group holes by type, size etc.
