Mechanism design - Do I need to use animation too?

Mechanism design - Do I need to use animation too?

Mechanism design - Do I need to use animation too?

(OP)
Hello Gurus

I have been using Mechanism Design for the first time, and making skeletons that will move a digger.  This is an exercise only.

I have made the digger move along a curve with drive sprockets rotating tracks.  The digger then stops for two seconds, one track rotates backwards, and the other forward, and the tank turns.

I have done this with two animations in an assembly – all servos are in sub-assemblies – I’m only working with skeletons and a layout.

I was hoping to be able to display and capture both analyses, running one after the other, but it appears, I can have one or the other, and not both.

I looked quickly in animation, but I can’t see that I can use the results from my animations.

What do I do next?

Thanks in advance

Dave

RE: Mechanism design - Do I need to use animation too?

Dave,

You could create a new analysis that runs all of the drivers. For example: Analysis 1 runs from 0-10 seconds, and Analysis 2 runs from 10 -20 seconds. Analysis three would run all the drivers (servo motors) with a time of 0 - 20 seconds.

I do all of my time sequences in Excel and have macros create the table files that I import into the driver table. This works very well when trying to manage several complex manipulations.

Best regards,

Matthew Ian Loew

Thanks Matthew,it worked great.  I hadn't realised I could change times from start to finish.

Best regards

Dave
