load options

(OP)
Hi,

Has anyone automated or partially automated the load options. Our users are constantly defining search directories in their load_options.def file. Is there a way to create a generic so you can plug in what you need and the system will load the assemble for you? I have read about ug_search_directories but am unable to get it to just read the directory only (reads the location also).

any help would be appreciated!

RE: load options

Define the directories in load_options.def to minimize the number of entries. This will search all directories under c:\ug_part_files.

c:\ug_part_files...

If you are not using TC, then you need to be aware of the search order and UG's load preference. UG will load the first occurance of the matching file it is looking for, even if a newer version is in another directory. TC solves this problem.

"Wildfires are dangerous, hard to control, and economically catastrophic."
"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

RE: load options

if you add 3 dots after the drive it will read every sub directory in that drive. like c:... will read everything in c:
