making parts into configurations.

(OP)
Hi,

The project I am working on has required me to make coolant lines from flex tubes, each being a custom configuration. I made each of these tubes (about 300) from within the assembly. Currently each tube in the assembly is assigned a different part name based on the location of the line; however, each one is made from the same tubing material and carries the same mil no. I was wondering if there was a way to take all of these individual parts, and turn them into configurations referencing one single part number.

Each one is basically the same thing... a 3D sketch, and 2 swept concentric circles.

Thanks.

RE: making parts into configurations.

Look at using a DT to control the dimensions. You can't take multipl parts and place them into a single file and turn them into Configurations. You will have to make one part with a Design Table (DT) and plug in the information within the DT and when you close the DT the model will update and list your Configurations.
