Conversion of SW2005 to SolidEdge

Conversion of SW2005 to SolidEdge

Conversion of SW2005 to SolidEdge

(OP)
Is there a way to translate or convert a Solidworks 2005 assembly into a SolidEdge assembly file while maintaining the directory tree?

I dont want to convert to stp as this will loose the tree structure.

Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Conversion of SW2005 to SolidEdge

Not that I know of, because of they are different CAD systems. You can export using Parasolid and get a much cleaner file, but it will still be a dumb solid. There isn't much you can about it when you go from one to another. welcome to CAD translations.

RE: Conversion of SW2005 to SolidEdge

I was sure that exporting to parasolid retains the assembly tree - you do get dumb solids, but the sub-assemblies remain sub-assemblies.

Or are you talking about retaining parametric associativity between features/components etc?
