This is something that has been up to debate here at work recently and it would be nice if any of you code gurus out there could give a definitive answer.

The question was:
Does the "C" dimension really apply to fig. 4 or can "B" be used as ID of the welding end?

And some of the reasoning was:
The figure doesn't say anything about the OD or ID of the welding end, but in 5.2 it is stated that "C shall be as indicated in Figs. 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6", and because "C" is nowere to be seen on that figure, that must mean that "C" doesn't apply to fig 4?

Farfetched? Maybe, but it feels like this isn't totally obvious (at least not by only reading the code)

I reviewed the 2003 Edition of ASME B16.25. Figure 4 refers to weld bevel details for the GTAW root pass only - bevel angle and root face dimensions. Other dimensions do not apply to this figure.
