Iparts set up

I have downloaded S Dotson tutorial on "how to set up your Project file for iparts, and also downloaded the C Bliss Bellows MDC iparts", but I can't seem to get the setup working properly, I have the bellows iparts on my desktop, should I place them some where in Inventor 8 pro, i mustn't be following the tutorial properly. where do the downloaded bellows iparts belong. (Inventor 8 pro single user)
can anyone help/advise please,

Alan

RE: Iparts set up

You should put all iParts in your iPart library directory.  The path defined by iParts=C: some path....

Thank you for responding to my problem, within my project Flexi, I have added one folder in the Library search path:  = c:\bellows, then added proxy path c:\_bellows which appears under the 1st folder, so I have two folders in the Library path now. If I open a new asm in the Flexi project & click to place component an open window appears, in the locations side of the window there is the library file if I click on it it opens bellows file in the look in window, if I 2x click on the MDC_formed bellows.ipt a place standard part window appears with keys, Tree & table in it, also size & No 1 in the window, my curser has an icon attached to it when i click into the graphics area the formed bellows file appears in the model tree window, I click ok & the place component box goes leaving nothing in the  graphics window, in the model tree window if I expand the formed bellows file it shows table & origin thats it no ipart bellows, (I expected to see the formed bellows 1" in size)

RE: Iparts set up

the proxy path is not c:\_bellows...

You create 2 folders...

Bellows Parents
Bellows Children

the project should look like

Bellows=C:\bellows Parents
_Bellows=C:\bellows Children

You need to read the tutorial again.
