turbine blade distribution

(OP)
Hi

We're trying to minimise the amount of material removed when balancing a turbine rotor disc, by mass moment weighing of the blades and then distributing them accordingly to minimise the imbalance. Is there a bit of software available to do this calculation, or is there a clever way of doing it?

Thanks

Allan

RE: turbine blade distribution

There was thread somewhere on eng-tips about this. Can you have a bit of a look around first? (Upshot was no, I think)

Cheers

RE: turbine blade distribution

Look in the site below under Other -> Rotor balance: by setting the figure for 'Unbalance sought' you may specify a non zero unbalance that you want to counter balance.

RE: turbine blade distribution

I have reason to believe that such software is available commercially.  I have no idea who sells it.
