Reuse of steam piping

Reuse of steam piping

(OP)
I believe that there is an ASME standard that addresses the re-use of pressure piping.  I now have the possibility of removing and re-installing steam piping for a 900 psi /850 deg system.  I am interested in knowing what standards or guides there might be.

RE: Reuse of steam piping

Hanelson,

You may want to have a look at ASME B31G - Manual for determining the remaining strength of corroded pipelines, a supplement to ASME Code B31 for Pressure Piping.

This is, of course, assuming that your system falls under the scope of B31.  Although, I can't imagine what other code it would be under.

RE: Reuse of steam piping

solan,
There are other international standards that cover Pressure Piping. It's not the sole domain of ASME B31.
