Assistance please.
I have a column which is to be constructed in accordance with ASME VIII Div1 & have completed the calcs to suit. The column is to be sited in europe therefore the PED is applied.
When putting the hydrostatic test pressures on GA drg how do I determine the correct test pressure. Calcs show a test pressure to ASME. PED has a min test pressure of 1.43xMAWP.
But which MAWP. From the min govening element? Or as we are not designing to a required MAWP is the MAWP=Design Pressure
as quoted in ASME.
Appreciate some words to the wise.

2. The test pressure per PED is the maximum of 1.43 Pdesign and 1.25 Pdesign x stress cold/stress hot (to be checked for each element.
3. If the ASME test pressure is higher than the PED test pressure , use ASME pressure.
4. If the PED test pressure is higher than the ASME test pressure , you have to use the PED pressure and recheck your ASME calc's in test condition in order to find out if no parts will be overstressed during hydro.
