Coupled Model for tank seismic analysis

Coupled Model for tank seismic analysis

Coupled Model for tank seismic analysis

(OP)
Sirs:
I am planning to use a FE coupled model to analyse a large
tank for seismic forces, incorporating the tank contents.
Some multiphysics computer programs, such as ADINA,have
the capabilities of using fluid elements combined with
normal stress analysis FE.¿Does anybody has experience on
this type of analysis? Any paper on this matter?
      Best regards,capablanca.

RE: Coupled Model for tank seismic analysis

Im very late on the response and may not truly answer your question but ACI put out a paper on the methodology behind analyzing a liquid filled tank. It did not use FEM but had a decent background on the math and methodology used to model a liquid filled tank under seismic loading. It was published in concrete international and should be avail on the ACI website.
