Latching SSR

Latching SSR

Latching SSR

(OP)
My SSR is rated:
Input 105-130 VAC 3VA, Contacts 125VAC 1/3Hp
I know that very little current is required to operate it, and they do trickle some current through closed contacts.
What are the chances that (OK, I mean parameters that will cause) a closed contact will leak enough current to energize itself?

RE: Latching SSR

There is an optocoupler between input and output -- the leakage is due to the plastic case.

If you want latching add transistor or IC latch.

RE: Latching SSR

Your application is to a 1/3 hp inductive load.  Any minor leakage current should be absorbed by that load.  You are ok.

If you are concerned, you can always add a small burden resistor on the latch.  OR buy a solid state relay that already has the AC input circuit designed that it does not need a burden resistor.

RE: Latching SSR

Leakageis practically zero -- it can't latch.
