Hacking I-DEAS model files

Hacking I-DEAS model files

Hacking I-DEAS model files

(OP)
What if I have a model file, and I want to know the top level assemblies and all independent parts and drawings in the file?  Here's the catch:  I can't open the file in I-DEAS.  Is there anything easily accessible within the data of the file that would clue me in?  Anything at all???

RE: Hacking I-DEAS model files

Hi Mattninja,

It depends on the I-DEAS version you are using. In I-DEAS 8, I don't know of a way to do this. In 7 or earlier, you just select the model file in "Manage Items", then click on the "Report" button.
