Hey Im looking for any sample promblems with keys involving machine design screws and bolts

RE: Machine Design

56026:  Is the key rectangular or circular.  Compute the stress in the shear area of the key.  There are also criteria on the sizing of the key/keyway.  You may wnat to refer to Machinery's Handbook.  Also refer to any standard reference on nuts and bolts.

Regards
Dave

RE: Machine Design

Dave,

I think he means an answer key, as in a problem with solution.

The books Mechanical Engineering Design by Shigley and Mischke and Fundamentals of Machine Component Design Juvinall and Marshek have basic problems.  You can buy these from many places, such as Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com

A better source is the design guideline VDI 2230 Systematic Calculation of High Duty Bolted Joints.  This is available at:

http://www.beuth.de

Regards,

Cory
