Mating a flat bracket to a loft surface

(OP)
Hi,
Its me again.

Any tips on mating a flat bracket to a mulit cross sectioned lofted surface?  I tried using 3 points to the surface but on the mated points always protudes into the surface.  Urggg.

thanks

RE: Mating a flat bracket to a loft surface

Sometimes the best thing to do is setup a plane or axis for mating.

Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. And scratch where it itches.

I agree with aamoroso ... except that I would say most times

RE: Mating a flat bracket to a loft surface

To get a plane tangent to an organic surface...

  1. Place a point on the surface.  I prefer using a 3D sketch with a point constrained coincident with the surface.  Add other dimensions and constraints and reference geometry as desired.
  2. Create an axis through the point and normal to the surface.
  3. Create a plane through the point and normal to the axis.

I could be the world's greatest underachiever, if I could just learn to apply myself.
