Part pattern in assembly
Part pattern in assembly
(OP)
In SW 2004, if you had a pattern in an assembly, you could double-click the pattern in the tree, and the numbers used in the pattern would show up in the working area. For example, the number used for the distance in the pattern, as well as the number for the quantity of parts in the pattern would show up.
Sometimes assembly configurations have the same part in a pattern, but with different distances/quantities. By double-clicking the pattern in the tree, then double clicking the number in the working area, you have a choice of "this configuration" or "all configurations".
It seems this is disabled in 2005 SP 2, or is just not allowed anymore. I was told that this option was available in 2005 SP 1.1. Does anyone else have this problem, or is this a bug?

Corb: Both the assembly and the part are saved.
I can make the pattern; the problem is when I double-click the pattern in the assembly-tree, the numbers don't show up in the working-area (for lack of the correct name, the area to the rightt of the assembly tree).

RE: Part pattern in assembly
Assembly configuration 1:
Part A: 3 Instances 5" apart
Aassembly configuration 2:
Part A: 4 Instances 6" apart
Assembly Configuration 3:
Part A: 2 Instances 12" apart
In 2004 you could change the quantities/distances for "this configuration" or "all configurations". In this example, I could double-click the 5 and choose "this configuration" and change it to 6, 12 or whatever for the distance.
