Elongated holes in steel base plate
Elongated holes in steel base plate
(OP)
A contractor, on one of my current projects, contacted me and informed that a 2" baseplate with 4-1 1/2" anchor bolts has one hole that is elongated and not round as specified.
Does anyone know of a repair for such a condition? I wondered if there is a epoxy or molten alloy that could be added to provide direct bearing from the bolt to the plate.

RE: Elongated holes in steel base plate
If so, try using a square plate under the nut with a standard hole (1/16" larger than the bolt diameter) and then field weld it to the base plate.
