forced mixing of liquid and powder into high viscous liquids

forced mixing of liquid and powder into high viscous liquids

forced mixing of liquid and powder into high viscous liquids

(OP)
I have designed and patented a new type processor, which is used for processing (ie/heating/mixing/evaporating/cooling)especially high viscous liquids.
The system comprises,in its basic form , two cylinders, each with a piston driven independently by external hydraulic cylinder. The piston end of the cylinders are connected by an in-line mixer and a special dual surface scraped heat exchanger.
Product slurry is sucked or pumped into cylinder #1 where its pushed out through the mixing head and heat exchanger into cylinder #2 which by means of applied back pressure controls the internal pressure of the system. On top of the mixer is located an injection cylinder(also hydraulicly driven) from which liquid or powder can be injected at highly accurate rate directly into the liquid. The liquid can now be exposed to heating/mixing and cooling by pushing it back and forth between the cylinders untill the required condition has been obtained. As the pressure applied to the system can be very high and as the cylinders are always scraped by the pistons, the system can handle very viscous and sticky products in a closed invironment. The system is easily cleaned and can be fully automatic. A special issue can also increase brix by evaporating solvents required for mixing.
a working pilot model (40 lites,35 bar)) is ready for test in june 2005.
The question to the forum is: Application??

RE: forced mixing of liquid and powder into high viscous liquids

Hi Dyhr,

Juice concentration, like apple, pear or tomato paste processing?

Normally large evaporators are applied for this:

How much would you be able to concentrate?

dear carf
thank you for your reply.
its a good question
what pressure(temp) does these products take.
what brix can you take the pulp (minimum moisture desired)
what temp. will you cool to ?
what vicousity do you expect the product to have at that temp.
please give me your e-amil and i will send you a power point on the concept.

regards
