RE: Rotating An Assy In Animator?

What I typically do is use the middle mouse button to rotate about an edge, then save predefined views which I can use when defining key frame points in animator.

However if you need to rotate about a specific point the easiest thing to do is create a 3D sketch making a centerline coincident to that point and either vertical, horizontal,or along Z. Then rotate about that sketch using the method discussed above.

RE: Rotating An Assy In Animator?

If you are rotating the whole assembly,(as opposed to rotating a single part within an assembly), try "Rotate View Pro" from Lenny's website:
http://webpages.charter.net/mkikstra/SWX-macros.html

You can rotate about the model X, Y, and Z axis, or a combination of the axi.  Also you can tell it how many rotation increments, as well as save each rotation to a jpeg ((to make animations).
