Reference Points not being Recognised

Reference Points not being Recognised

Reference Points not being Recognised

(OP)

I am creating a part in context of the assembly it goes in, and since it a tube, I am using the 3D sketch tool. I am trying to create a relation between a reference point I have created within the assembly and the endpoint of the sketch, and it does not seem to recognise that I have a reference point. Any advice...

RE: Reference Points not being Recognised

OK, so my real question is can I use Reference points to put connection points on surfaces. I have customer supplied files in igis format that i imported into solidworks, and am trying incorporate them into my assembly, but I can't seem to add any connection points through the standard method of point-plane.

Any ideas?
