Impact strength of wood relative to plastic

Impact strength of wood relative to plastic

Impact strength of wood relative to plastic

(OP)
I am looking at a comparison between the impact properties of wood and plastic. However, wood impact properties are given in reference to a different test.  Plastics use I-zod or charpy.  Is there data on how wood would perfrom in these tests.  Even a simple comparison such as "pine has an impact bending srength similar to ????? material" would help.

Thanks in advance

RE: Impact strength of wood relative to plastic

Try contacting the USDA Forest Products Laboratory in Madison, Wisconsin.  I know the FPL in the past has done a lot of work with wood plastic composites, so they might be able to help you out.
