Lineditch deletion

Lineditch deletion

(OP)
I am working as a planning engineer here in Palau, I have a problem regarding proposal for deletion of lineditch at the top of the cutslope can anyone help me what are the reason for such deletion of lineditch because the design slope is not workable to put up lineditch because it is very high and full of vegetation and I think the contractor will not approve such reason.... can anyone have an idea for this..

RE: Lineditch deletion

the brow ditch prevents storm runoff from eroding the face of the cut slope and from saturating the slope which can cause slides.  If you can't show that you do not have an erosion problem or slope stability problem (through an engineering analysis) than you probably should not delete it.
