PDMWorks tutorial help ?

PDMWorks tutorial help ?

PDMWorks tutorial help ?

(OP)
Has anybody out there tried the PDMWorks tutorial, I have a co-worker of my that wants to learn PDMWorks, I told him I'm not sending him to training, so I'll have to pick it up on his own, since I don't have time to actually sit-down and teach him everything. I was wondering if the PDMWorks tutorials where any good, and I was just going to let him borrow my old training manuals. Can anyone give me any suggestions ?

RE: PDMWorks tutorial help ?

iGetIt has some nice tutorials on PDMWorks, they have movies that you can follow along with:

I found them very useful since they go through everything step by step.  They have an administrator's course as well.

RE: PDMWorks tutorial help ?

The tutorials will help, so will the Help menu.
But, you will still need to teach him how your company is setup with PDMW. If you don't, he can mess up the way rev's and lifecycles of files are setup. I suggest take a couple hours a week until he is comfortable with it.

Chris is absolutely right. A star for him.

I have made the mistake of letting drafters figure things out on their own. Our number 1 rule is: Take ownership when you are going to be changing it. We have had drafters over write each others work, because of not following rule number 1, and this was before we could delete the last entry. A few minutes helping someone will improve the bottom line as well as his morale.

ctopher,

I agree with you. He will only be able to copy or check-out items out of Intralink and PDMWorks only. Only two people at our plant have access to the admin. login. Thanks ctopher, engAlright, for all you help I'll drink a cold beer for you guys tonight.
