design table problem

design table problem

design table problem

(OP)
Thanks in advance to all the people who have been helping me.

I have made an excel design table to associate with a V5 model which has units of inches.

The problem is, V5 thinks that my excel numbers are in meters, so the geometry gets wierd.  How can I make catia think that my excel table is in inches?

Sorry, I keep answering my own questions.

You have to have the variable names at the top of each column, and the variable name must be followed by
<space>(in)

I was trying it without the space, and with in., and various combinations; it is syntax sensitive.

RE: design table problem

You do not need to put anything after the parameter in your spread sheet, but make sure you have set your unit in inch. in tool options under parameters tab.

RE: design table problem

boffin5 is correct.  The Design Table must have the units in the Column headers, or else CATIA will assume that the units are millimeters.
