Acad 2000 to 2004/05 conversion issues

This is a reiteration of an older post. Still having the same problem. We still use acad 2000 (Upper management decision) but have some seats of acad 2005 for working with customer files that have been saved as such. When we open a 2000 dwg in '05 we get a warning that it was made in an educational file. This is not so!

No part of the file was made in an educational file but it was made in 2000. Also there are no xref's that may cause this problem.

If I take a file erase everthing, cut all links and save as new file I will still get this warning.

My vendor has been little help, and Adesk doesn't help. Any ideas? The guys at DWG Gateway (www.dwggateway.com/index.html) are looking into it also.

Why do you care about the warning as long as
it translates correctly?  It is an obvious bug
in the software.

The file prints out with a "Produced by an Autodesk Educational Product" on all four sides. This notice interferes with parts in the drawings, and does not look good when sent to the customer as approval drawings.

RE: Acad 2000 to 2004/05 conversion issues

Somehow the drawing was "infected", either by someone editing it using an Educational product, or inserting a block made from one.  Only way to get rid of it is to saveas release 12, or dxf to release 12.

Cool, thanks for the lead. I had trouble saving to a R12 dxf, so I tried a R13 dwg. It worked.

Seems to be an issue between 2000 and 2005. I erased everything and purged the file, saved as a new file, and it would still give a warning regardless of version saved to.

In the end, I have proven that there is no way the file was edited or contained files made in an Educational version. Thanks for the help.
