i need to model a bowden cable in solidworks it needs to work in an assembly as a mate that is flexible, this seems like it should be easy but i just cant work it out.
help would be great

If I were you I would look at creating a design table for the bowden cable part. You will have multiple configurations determining  the length. You could even have an equation created to make the other end shorter as the other end gets longer. Then in your assembly all you have to do is select the multiple configurations of the bowden cable model to make the components that are mated to it move.

Hope this makes sense. Please let me know if I have to clarify the process.
