ACAD 2005 - Automatic Property filters

ACAD 2005 - Automatic Property filters

ACAD 2005 - Automatic Property filters

(OP)
In Layermanager I have set up a number of useful property filters - However, every now and then I get an automatic 30 to 40 extra filters.  I then have to delete these but retaining my own which is time wasting.

Is there a way to avoid the creation of automatic property filters.

RE: ACAD 2005 - Automatic Property filters

A couple of questions:  Your drawing, what version of ACAD used and is it parametric?  Is the drawing 2D or 3D?  Are you bringing in blocks that have layers other than layer 0? Are you inserting or XREF other ACAD files into your drawing that have other nonstandard layers? Are you importing files from other file formats?

I'm using 2005 - No idea what parametric is? Drawing is 2d. I have many xref drawing in my drawing (maybe 20), but nothing new (i.e. the new layer filters appear regardless without new xref being added). All my xrefs are acad2005.

The link from Borgunit is fine but deletes all layers filters. I have my own layers filters that I use but 30 to 40 which I dont want and create themselves. I would like to stop the automatic creation of those unwanted filters.

thanks

RE: ACAD 2005 - Automatic Property filters

AutoCAD 2005 users should download the Service Pack 1 from the Autodesk website.  I must have had thousands of filters show up after waiting over two whole minutes for Layer Manager to open.  Service Pack 1 eliminates the extra layer filters.
