Coefficient of friction between ABS and Delrin
Coefficient of friction between ABS and Delrin
(OP)
Hello,
Can someone tell me the coefficient of friction between abs and delrin? I want something low. I am planning to align an abs part that has a pin into a guide slot made from another plastic. If delrin is not suitalbe, is there another common, low cost injection moldable plastic that would be suitable?
Thanks,
Kyle

PE in its various forms has been called the poor man's teflon. May lack rigidity.
Nylon is pretty good. Pat Primmer is the man to advise for this material.

As LNP has already been mentioned, I did not comment further.
A lot depends on the actual conditions of use. Nylons, polyesters, acetals, various fluorocarbons, PE and PP all make good bearings and all have strengths and weaknesses.
