Solidworks pattern

Solidworks pattern

(OP)
I'm working on part that has a a perimeter that needs to be filled with a pattern.  However, the perimeter is oddly shapped so that some the outer lying pattern features need to be trimmed at this perimeter.  It would also be nice if the pattern could be parameterized so that i could change one instance and updates accordily.  I did this before using linear pattern then manually trimed the outer features or course this is now unconstrained geometry and the sketch is huge.  Thanks.
