PUMPS FOR PAINT WATER BASE

PUMPS FOR PAINT WATER BASE

(OP)
COULD YOU TELL ME ABOUT WHAT MATERIALS I NEED TO USE IN ORDER TO PUMP A  PAINT WATER BASE? I DONT KNOW HOW ABRASIVE IT´S.
TYPE OF PUMP: VANE PUMP A 495 RPM
SOLIDS :15%
VISCOSITY: 2000 mPa.s
flow: 30 m3/h
density: 1.1 Kg/dm3
Tª: 20ºc
PH :NEUTRO.
I THINK THAT I SHOULD  USE :
CASING, HEADS : NI-RESIST-2
VANES: POLYMER
ROTOR: NI RESIST
SHAFT : HIGH STRENGTH STEEL.
MECHANICAL SEALS :
VITON, SILICON CARBIDE

ITS POSSIBLE TO USE CAST IRON CASING AND HEADS?
THANKS.

RE: PUMPS FOR PAINT WATER BASE

In addition to how abrasive it might be, some paints have limits on shear that they will tollerate.

The corrosion resistance issues are probably linked to duty cycle.  All that i can tell you is that some water based paints tend to be fairly corrosive and all of the paint lines that I have seen are 100% stainless.

Corrosion never sleeps, but it can be managed.
